Geezers in the UK

18 Sep

Two vital pieces of our Premier squad have had great success for their club sides in the U.K.

-Tyler McGladdery-

Last year’s overseas player, and captain Tyler McGladdery has been playing for Northern CC in the highly touted Liverpool league. Tyler was a standout performer for our club in the Baywide Premier competition and has carried that impressive form into his domestic season at home.

With an absolute swag of runs under his belt for the season (2143 runs at an average of 61.23 for the season!!), his side took out the Lancashire Knock Out Cup Competition, with Tyler knocking up a vital half century at Old Trafford.

Tyler’s consistency earned a callup for Derby, where he continued to score plenty of runs, against genuine quality competition.

Tyler is using the offseason to have a nagging knee injury rehabbed but intends to be back in Geyser colours for the 24/25 season.

-Cam Ingram-

One of Geyser’s favorite sons Cam Ingram also travelled to the UK, to have a season for Ormskirk 2nd XI. Cam has settled into a middle order role with his new mates and has done exceptionally well with both bat and gloves.

He was in the top 10 batsmen for the Timed Cricket competition (similar format to the Bay Cup here at home). And no surprise to see he was at the very top of the wicketkeeping tallies for the entire league with more than 25 catches, as well as an impressive number of stumping (12).

Cam also tasted success with his squad winning the timed comp with a couple of games to spare, as well as coaching both the under 13’s and under 15’s who both won more than 80% of their games.

Congrats to both lads on huge seasons. We can’t wait to see you both back here in New Zealand wearing the blue and red soon.
