Geyser City WINS the Chance Cars Geyser Cup!

2 Oct

Geyser Cup #4 kicked off the summer with Geyser, Central Indians Cricket Club , Tauranga Boys' College Cricket and Eastern Bay of Plenty Cricket Club playing for early season honours. Central Indians were comfortable winners over EBOP whilst Geyser limped past a modest target of 79 over TBC to quality for the final. In the final, Geyser City Cricket batted to 112 in their 20 overs with Goldendeep Brar 44* and Sean Gapes 23 contributing best. Mitch Kane was very brutal in the chase hitting 60 off just 20 balls! But Geyser stayed in the fight to reduced CI to 95 for 9 after being 76 for 1. Cohen Stewart turned the Geyser fortunes with 4 for 22 and ultimately changed the game. CI came just 2 runs short to give Geyser the early season silverware.
