23/24 SEASON REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN!

Kia ora Geyser Cricket Whanau!

Now that we’ve reached September we can officially say that there is going to be cricket this month.
The last weekend in September is the Chance Cars Geyser Cup preseason tournament, and I for one can’t wait to see some of our guys in action!!! Let’s hope that this is the year that we take out our own tournament.

I have a couple of things to address around registrations and playing fees for this season. Firstly, thanks to everyone that has sorted out any outstanding fees from previous seasons, it was a little tricky to reconcile with the new PlayHQ system, so it’s great that we can get these tidied up.

On the back of the issues around PlayHQ, we aren’t able to structure the fees like we have in previous years. In the past we have offered various levels of discounts based on when people have paid. This became a nightmare last season, so we’ve had to rethink how we do things for this season.

The major change is that subs will need to be paid as you register this season. Last year we had a pay later option, but as mentioned it caused all sorts of hiccups. So this year, as you fill the rego form out, it will ask for your payment details on the spot.

If you’re not in a position to pay upfront, and need to sort out a payment plan, don’t stress at all. Reach out to Karrie-Ann or I and we will sort out an alternative payment plan option for you, so you don’t miss out on any cricket. Just let either of us know and we will arrange a plan that suits your specific situation. We understand that times are tough at the moment and don’t want to place financial pressure on people when it comes to playing cricket.

Regarding financial pressure, I’m stoked to say that our committee has taken a bold stance on junior fees this season and decided that we won’t charge players from our junior teams to represent the club. So all players from the Marvels, Defenders, and Rebels will not pay fees to play cricket.

Growing playing numbers in the junior space has always been a priority for us, and we’re hoping that this might encourage more kids to play cricket.

We will be keeping the senior playing fees at the same price as they have been for several years: $175.00. Instead of offering prompt payer discounts like we have in the past we again are doing something a little different this season.

As well as a full season player sub, there will also be a half season option, and a social/supporters option for those that will only play the odd game here or there, or that just want to make a financial contribution to the club.

All senior players that register, and either pay or sort out a plan to pay prior to the first match of the season, will receive one of the new club training t-shirts as part of their membership. The new gear looks great, and we want everyone to get their hands on the new kit. There is a full range of off-field kit available for this season which will be added to the registration form for you to order too.

Registrations will go live this week (click here), so if you have any questions, or concerns please get in touch with me at any time.
Can’t wait to see you all out there on the field again soon!!!

Cheers!
