GPL#1 IS HERE! Match 4 Recap

26 Feb

Neil Hunt Park outer oval was the scene for Match #4 of GPL #1 where the Western Heights Pharmacy Wranglers hosted the Chance Cars Casanovas. Ben Dyson set the tone early with some lusty blows to have the Casanovas tracking well after the early loss of Supreet Singh. Matt Collier was an able ally to put on an 82-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. They combined to send 7x sixes to all parts of Eastside. Sadie Stewart, Umesh Moraji, and Jono Collier continued the momentum to post a formidable 151 for 6 after the 16 overs.

Ben Astwood was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 12 off his 2 overs.

The Wranglers response was in early trouble with Charli Parkinson and Jiten Manu in the hut for only 10. However Ben Astwood and Josh Robinson combined for an 84-run Partnership to give the Westside Cowboys a real chance at running down the total and a late flurry from Ravi Yarwood-Paintal gave them real hope. But Cam Ingram and Supreet Singh had the final say with the ball to have the Lovers prevail by 7 runs.

We have a break for a week or so then back into Match #5 where the Chance Cars Casanovas take on the Craigs Investment Partners Hostiles.

The individual performances are taking shape with Josh Robinson at the top of the runs with 78 whilst Ben Dyson is revealing his all-round capabilities with 76 runs (2nd) and also top of the wicket taking with 4.
